Project description
The project aims to support the efforts of Romani women associated with the Union of Romani Mother Centers (URMC) to develop themselves and improve the quality of life in their communities. The organization operates in nine towns and villages in the Banská Bystrica region, including the Poltár district, which is one of the "least developed districts" in Slovakia. Some of its members have spent decades working in the field, successfully using community-based organization methods. The partner exchange of experience with organizations from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Norway, as well as the individual project activities will contribute to the further development of the URMC's capacities. Activists will gain new skills that will help them in the daily struggle with multiple discrimination and social or political exclusion and their consequences.
