Project description
The subject of the project is the reconstruction and restoration of the disrepair condition of the north-eastern wall of the Ľubovňa castle. One of the main activities is the rescue and presentation of the archeological site of military barracks from the 17th century, which were discovered near the wall. At present, the wall and an important archeological site are still subject to extensive destruction. The project will make it possible to present historic military barracks in the form of a permanent exhibition using modern digital technologies. Further presentation of the well/cistern and cultivation of the third courtyard. The project also includes the creation of a falconry yard connected with the presentation of the art of birds of prey and their use for AVES therapy. In the field of tourism development, the project includes a presentation of ancient castle crafts (blacksmith, potter, alchemist, or perfumer). The project will be supported by cooperation with partners Vardo Museum in Norway, primary school, and kindergarten in Štiavnické Bane and the civic association Friends of Ľubovňa Castle.
