Project description

Through the Change 21 project, the Salvation Army in Slovakia responds to multiple challenges related to addressing the inclusion of Roma in society and helps to remove obstacles that slow down this process. The project is being implemented in the localities Plavecký Štvrtok and Pezinok - Glejovka in cooperation with the Salvation Army in Norway, o.z. AD prevention and the Bratislava self-governing region. The project covers five areas of intervention - health, housing, education, employment, and non-discrimination. The Project employs 14 employees, of which 10 are Roma. Moreover, the project aims also to register an Integrative Social Enterprise, that will be established in the second half of the project implementation. Such initiative helps people who have never worked before or for a long period of time. The main goal of the project is to deteriorate barriers that constrain the process of Roma inclusion and their empowerment in society.
